In many AWS DKP environments, SSH access will be disabled by default. In this case, if you need to connect directly to the shell terminal of one of your nodes to perform maintenance, you can use the AWS CLI.
First you need to have the AWS CLI installed and authenticated to your account. Documentation on doing that is located here:
Once you are authenticated to your AWS account, you can connect directly to a node with this command:
aws ssm start-session --target <instance-id> --region <region-id>
Replace <instance-id> with the appropriate instance ID of your DKP node, and <region-id> with the AWS region where the instance resides. You can find your instance ID in the AWS EC2 Web Console. It will start with "i-".
