Some users have reported an issue where a Kubernetes node will stop running pods. The logs for the failed pods will contain messages that resemble:
Failed to create pod sandbox: rpc error: code = Unknown desc = failed to setup network for sandbox "30d05ecb60cd90e7cf2af67703bc8e704a504312c4596ed4cecbd291": netplugin failed with no error message
At this time we are not clear about the cause of the error, but we have found that restarting containerd has been an effective step to fix it.
If you encounter this issue, we recommend restarting containerd as a first troubleshooting step.
SSH into the affected node, then run:
sudo systemctl restart containerd
The containerd process on the system should then restart.
